Configuring the governance lifecycle

This topic describes how to configure the governance lifecycle and set up WSRR to support governance.

WSRR is provided with a default lifecycle that is installed as part of the standard installation. This has to be removed before adding a new lifecycle, because only one lifecycle definition file is permitted in WSRR.

The best way to define a governance lifecycle is to develop a new UML State Machine by using the IBM® WebSphere® Service Registry and Repository Studio application. Studio generates a SACL file that describes the State machine and the counterpart OWL file that contains the state and transition classifications. The SACL file can also be generated by using the IBM Integration Designer tools or manually within a standard text editor.

The SACL file can also be generated manually.
