Migrating to replication and publishing Version 10.1 (z/OS)

Migration of the Q Capture or Q Apply control tables is required after you install InfoSphere® Replication Server for z/OS®, 10.1 or InfoSphere Data Event Publisher for z/OS, 10.1.

About this task

Version 10.1 is the first full version on z/OS since Version 9.1. In between there have been two upgrades based on PTFs that are the equivalent of versions 9.5 and 9.7 on Linux, UNIX, and Windows. To migrate to Version 10.1, your control tables must first be at the equivalent of Version 9.7. The same holds true for migrating to versions 9.7 and 9.5. Therefore, in some cases migrating to Version 10.1 is a multistep process in which you run a series of scripts, each of which migrates the control tables to the next version.

Procedure

  1. Note the value of the ARCH_LEVEL column in the IBMQREP_CAPPARMS table at the Q Capture server and the IBMQREP_APPLYPARMS table at the Q Apply server:
    • If the value is 0907, you can migrate directly to Version 10.1.
    • If the value is 0905 or 0901, go to the next step.
  2. Run one or both of the following sample jobs to migrate the control tables to the 0907 architecture level:
    SASNSAMP(ASNQMZ95)
Migrates the control tables from the 0901 architecture level to 0905.
    SASNSAMP(ASNQMZ97)
Migrates the control tables from the 0905 architecture level to 0907.
  3. Run the SASNSAMP(ASNQMZ10) sample job to migrate the control tables to the Version 10.1 architecture level of 100Z.
Note for DB2 Version 10: If you use the Replication Center, after you migrate to DB2® for z/OS Version 10 drop and recreate the stored procedure SYSPROC.DSNWZP to enable the Replication Center to access DB2 subsystem parameter information. To define the stored procedure, run the DB2 for z/OS installation job DSNTIJSG.
