Configuring Internet Explorer to support the Browser Helper Object extension

If you use Internet Explorer 9 or Internet Explorer 10 to run the guided workflows, additional configuration is required to support the Browser Helper Object (BHO) extension.

Group Policy configuration

About this task

Complete the following configuration steps in the Local Group Policy Editor:

Procedure

  1. In Windows, click Start, then type group policy in the Search box to open the Local Group Policy Editor window.
  2. Under Computer Configurations, click Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer > Internet Control Panel > Advanced Page.
  3. In the list on the right pane, right-click Allow third-party browser extensions, and select Edit.
  4. In the Allow third-party browser extensions window, select Enabled, and then click OK.
  5. Click Computer Configurations > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer.
  6. In the list, right-click Automatically activate newly installed add-ons, and select Edit.
  7. In the Automatically activate newly installed add-ons window, select Enabled, and then click OK.

Complete the following configuration steps in the Internet Explorer browser window:

Procedure

  1. Click Tools > Internet options.
  2. Click the Security tab, then click Custom level.
  3. Under Display mixed content, select Enable.
  4. Click Tools > Internet options.
  5. Click the Privacy tab, then click Sites.
  6. In the Per Site Privacy Actions window, in the Address of website field, type the IP address of the SAP server, and then click Allow.
