Generic trap handling

Certain devices generate traps of various generic types. How the probe handles each trap depends on its type.

The following table describes the handling of each generic trap type.

Generic trap-type 3 - Link Up

Alert Key set to the $1 varbind (ifIndex)

Identifier field set to Node name plus Agent plus generic trap plus specific trap plus ifIndex.

Generic trap-type 4 - Authentication

By default, Authentication traps are not discarded.
