User-defined Extension sample

This sample comprises two message flow samples, SearchFilter and NumCompute. These samples demonstrate the use of user-defined nodes both in the C and Java programming languages.

These samples make use of the following user-defined nodes:

• SearchFilter node in the Java programming language
• NumCompute node in the C programming language

NOTE: In WebSphere Message Broker Version 8.0, IBM Integration Bus 9.0 and later, message model schema files contained in libraries are the preferred way to model messages for most data formats, including the new DFDL domain. Message sets continue to be supported, and are required if you use the MRM or IDOC domains. You can continue to import and deploy message sets for use in message flows. However, if you need to create one or more message sets, message definitions, or message categories when using this sample, you must first enable message set development in the IBM Integration Toolkit. Setup instructions

You can set up the sample in one of the following ways:

• Import and partially set up the sample

  This option imports the sample files into your workspace and deploys the sample to the integration node. This option also sets up additional resources for the sample, for example, WebSphere MQ queues. When importing, you may see errors or warnings that are resolved when following the steps in Setting up the User-defined Extension sample. Additional manual steps might be required to configure the sample for testing.

• Import the sample

  This option imports the sample files into your workspace. When importing, you may see errors or warnings that are resolved when following the steps in Setting up the User-defined Extension sample. Additional manual steps might be required to configure the sample for testing.

You can import or import and deploy a sample only when you use the information center that is integrated with the IBM Integration Toolkit.

Run the sample

• Remove the sample from the integration node, but leave its resources in the workspace
• Remove the sample from the integration node and the workspace

The two User-defined Extension sample nodes remain in the node palette and installed in the integration node. You can manually remove the User-defined Extension sample nodes, see Removing the User-defined Extension sample nodes from the node palette and the integration node.
