SAP call out to a synchronous system sample

The SAP call out to a synchronous system sample consists of a single message flow application that demonstrates how to use the SAPInput node with the SAPReply node to enable a message flow to act as a synchronous BAPI. The message flow is used to service requests for four different BAPIs that create, update, retrieve, and delete customer details.

NOTE: In WebSphere Message Broker Version 8.0 or IBM Integration Bus V9.0 and later, message model schema files contained in libraries are the preferred way to model messages for most data formats, including the new DFDL domain. Message sets continue to be supported, and are required if you use the MRM or IDOC domains. You can continue to import and deploy message sets for use in message flows. However, if you need to create one or more message sets, message definitions, or message categories when using this sample, you must first enable message set development in the IBM Integration Toolkit. Setup instructions

You can set up the sample in one of the following ways:

• Import and create a SapReplySample integration server

  This option imports the sample files into your workspace and deploys the sample to the integration node. This option also sets up additional resources for the sample, for example, integration servers. Additional manual steps might be required to configure the sample for testing. After importing you may see errors in the workspace reporting that sapidoc3.jar and sapjco3.jar are missing. This is expected and can be resolved by following the steps in Enable the Adapter Connection Project to locate the SAP JCo Libraries and JAR file and SAP IDoc JAR file in Setup instructions

• Import the sample

  This option imports the sample files into your workspace. Additional manual steps might be required to configure the sample for testing.

You can import or import and deploy a sample only when you use the information center that is integrated with the IBM Integration Toolkit.

When you have finished with the sample, you can remove it in one of the following ways:

• Remove the sample from the integration node, but leave its resources in the workspace
• Remove the sample from the integration node and the workspace
