Choosing your IBM Integration Bus edition and operation mode

The capability and capacity provided by IBM® Integration Bus vary according to the operation mode in which your integration nodes are running, and your entitlement to run in a particular mode depends on the edition of the product that you have purchased.

You can choose the mode of operation for your integration node based on the functionality and capacity that you require. If appropriate, you can install an edition that supports a restricted set of functions, if that subset fulfills your business requirements. You must ensure that your use and configuration of the product conforms to the license agreement that you have purchased. Some features of IBM Integration Bus have specific requirements, such as a specific mode of operation or the availability of an additional product, such as a database.

The following topics describe the features that are available in each operation mode, together with additional requirements and restrictions:

For more information about the license requirements for each operation mode, see License requirements.
