Checking the operation mode of your broker

Run the mqsimode command to report the mode that is being used by your broker.

Use the connection parameters to identify the broker that you want to check.

To report the mode that is being used by your broker, run the following command:

mqsimode –i host –p port –q qmgr

where host is the IP address or host name, port is the port number, and qmgr is the name of the queue manager that is associated with your broker. Alternatively, if you created the broker on the computer on which you run this command, you can specify the broker name instead. For example:

mqsimode broker_name

where broker_name is the name of your broker.

Here is a sample response message for this command:

BIP1044: Connecting to the broker's queue manager...
BIP1807: Discovering mode information from broker 'IB9NODE'...
BIP1802: Broker 'IB9NODE' is in 'standard' mode.
BIP8071: Successful command completion.

Running this command also reports all mode violations, see Restrictions that apply in each operation mode. For example:

BIP1821W: WARNING: Broker 'IB9NODE' is in 'express' mode 
but has '2' execution groups, which exceeds the allowed maximum for this mode.
