In a JES3 system, the USER parameter on the JES3 //*MAIN statement
identifies the job with a TSO/E user. The job can be submitted through
any input source, other than the internal reader, provided the installation
does not force job naming conventions. USER allows the TSO/E userid
to:
- Issue a TSO/E OUTPUT command to access sysout data sets from the
job.
- Inquire about the status of the job or cancel it.
