Damaged indexes

If the index component of a key-sequenced data set (KSDS) is damaged, the system may indicate the problem in any of several different ways. These include:

Abends
Loops
Waits
Missing records
Duplicate records
Out-of-sequence records

Table 1 lists typical symptoms of a damaged data set when IDCAMS detects the damage.
