Procedure

Examine the Standard modifier keyword list to see if any modifier keywords describe an aspect of the failure. Record any such keywords on the Keyword worksheet.
For incorrect output or performance types-of-failure, the system might not provide enough information to identify a failure-related module. If, however, you can identify a failure-related function or other modifier, specify them as the modifier keyword(s). See Table 1.

For all other types-of-failure, select the procedure for the failure-related component from Table 1.

If SYS1.LOGREC contains a failure-related hardware record, identify the status and hardware device type using the following list of modifier keywords.
