The SMSVSAM address space automatically starts at IPL if the RLSINIT
(YES) keyword is specified in the IGDSMS
xx member
of SYS1.PARMLIB. You can also start the SMSVSAM address space after
IPL by issuing the following command from the MVS console:
V SMS,SMSVSAM,ACTIVE
