The terminator
The terminator ends the command, and can be either a semicolon or the absence of a continuation mark.
If you use the semicolon as the terminator, do not close it in quotation marks or embed it in a comment. Everything to the right of the semicolon is ignored.
For example, if you code:
PARM TEST (TRACE); PARM -
GRAPHICS (CHAIN(TN))/*COMMENT*/ -
PRINT ...
REPRO ...
the characters following the semicolon terminator
are ignored. Because a continuation mark (hyphen) appears at the end
of the second record, the PRINT command is also ignored. The first
PARM command and the REPRO command are the only recognized commands.
