Determines whether VTAM® internally paces the GIVEBACK subcommands (GIVEBACKs) that are generated from a VARY INACT,TYPE=GIVEBACK command. The GVBKDLY start option only controls GIVEBACK commands that use wildcard values for the ID operand to deactivate dependent LU requesters (DLURs). Specifying GVBKDLY=YES causes VTAM to internally delay scheduling the GIVEBACK subcommands. It results in more efficient processing when the wildcard value for the ID operand on a VARY INACT,TYPE=GIVEBACK command matches many DLURs. This start option can be modified.
Note: The use of wildcard values on GIVEBACK commands is controlled by the value of the VARYWLD start option.
GVBKDLY=NO
Specifies that VTAM does not internally pace the GIVEBACK subcommands that are generated from a VARY INACT,TYPE=GIVEBACK command.
GVBKDLY=YES
Specifies that VTAM internally paces the GIVEBACK subcommands that are generated from a VARY INACT,TYPE=GIVEBACK command. The GVBKDLY start option only controls GIVEBACK commands that use wildcard values for the ID operand to deactivate dependent LU requesters (DLURs).
Note: VTAM issues message IST2416I after it schedules the last GIVEBACK that is generated from the previous command. If you have multiple wildcard patterns to use for the VARY INACT command, wait until the IST2416I message is displayed before you issue another VARY INACT,TYPE=GIVEBACK command with a different wildcard pattern.
