Data purging and truncating z/OS Communications Server: SNA Programmer's LU 6.2 Guide SC27-3669-00 |
|
When an application program reports an error, the data that is waiting to be received or sent over the network can be lost. When a PROGRAM or SERVICE error is reported with APPCCMD CONTROL=SEND, QUALIFY=ERROR, a return code indicates whether any data has been lost. The abnormal APPCCMD CONTROL=DEALLOC|DEALLOCQ macroinstructions and APPCCMD CONTROL=SEND, QUALIFY=ERROR,TYPE=USER macroinstructions do not create a return code that indicates whether data purging or truncating has taken place, although it might have happened. Note: Purging does not occur when an APPCCMD CONTROL=SEND,
QUALIFY=ERROR macroinstruction is issued on a full-duplex conversation.
