Extended subnetwork boundaries z/OS Communications Server: SNA Network Implementation Guide SC27-3672-01 |
|
An extended subnetwork boundary is a connection between two border nodes that support extended subnetwork boundaries. Although topology flows are still restricted across the boundary, both nodes recognize that a network node exists on the other side, allowing for additional subnetwork hops and increased control over routing. Note: Some border nodes do not support extended subnetwork
boundaries. If one of two communicating border nodes does not support
extended subnetwork boundaries, a peripheral subnetwork boundary is
used.
