Converting a non-SNI NCP to a gateway NCP

z/OS Communications Server: SNA Network Implementation Guide
SC27-3672-01

To define a gateway NCP, code an NETID and a GWCTL operand on the PCCU definition statement in your NCP definition.

NETID specifies the network containing the host node that the PCCU definition statement defines. The NETID and SUBAREA operands are used together to determine which VTAM® host should process this PCCU definition statement. If NETID is omitted, only the SUBAREA value is used. This could result in the PCCU definition statement being processed by the wrong VTAM host.

The GWCTL operand tells VTAM whether other gateway SSCPs can perform some of the cross-network session setup functions. GWCTL specifies this SSCP role only for the gateway NCP being defined. It applies only if this SSCP is on the session setup path.

In addition to defining the gateway NCP itself, define the network that is native to it and the nonnative networks.
