In Figure 1, two AS/400® network nodes are attached to a VTAM® network node by nonnative network type 2.1 connections. If two resources (one at each of the AS/400 network nodes) are to communicate with each other through the intermediate VTAM network node, at least one of the connections must be a LEN connection or APPN multiple network connectivity support must be implemented (see APPN multiple network connectivity).
