Use the COPY subcommand to transfer data or addresses from:
  • One storage address to another
  • One general register to another
  • A general register to virtual storage
  • Virtual storage to a general register
  • An access register to virtual storage
  • Virtual storage to an access register
  • One access register to another
In addition, you can use the COPY subcommand to:
  • Save or restore the contents of the general registers
  • Propagate the value of a byte throughout a field
  • Move an entire data field from one location to another
