To create a data set like another, issue the ALLOCATE command, specify the DATASET operand followed by the new data set name, and specify the LIKE operand followed by the name of the model data set.

ALLOCATE DATASET(test.data) LIKE(model.data)

MODEL.DATA then has the same attributes as TEST.DATA.
