Changing a Data Set's Name

z/OS TSO/E User's Guide

To change the name of a data set, specify on the RENAME command:
  • The data set name you want to change
  • The data set's new name
Example
To change the name of data set PREFIX.TEST.DATA to PREFIX.PARTS.DATA, enter: 
RENAME test.data parts.data
