If the failure does not require a reIPL, and you want to continue making dynamic configuration changes from the point of failure, enter the ACTIVATE command with the RECOVER keyword and TARGET option. z/OS® continues making the remaining dynamic configuration changes, finishing building the new (target) I/O hardware configuration. If you do not specify TARGET or SOURCE option, z/OS continues in the same direction as when failure occurred.
