This step applies to both coupling facility and DASD-only log streams.

If an application is using a resource manager, you can associate a log stream with a resource manager using the RMNAME parameter in the LOGR policy. You can specify one resource manager name for a log stream in the log stream definition. A resource manager is an application you can write to manage resources and processing for a log stream.
