Label field

z/OS MVS JCL Reference

Code a label on the ENDCNTL statement, as follows:
  • Each label must be unique within the job.
  • The label must begin in column 3.
  • The label is 1 through 8 alphanumeric or national ($, #, @) characters.
  • The first character must be alphabetic or national ($, #, @).
  • The label must be followed by at least one blank.
