Ability to use MTL drives as stand-alone

SC23-6867-00

Through use of the MTLSHARE keyword, a manual tape library device on one system can be used on another system as a non-library (stand-alone) device. Specification of the MTLSHARE keyword on the non-MTL (stand-alone) systems also ensures that the cartridge loader can only be indexed on the systems using the device as a manual tape library device. This prevents the stand-alone environment from using scratch cartridges assigned to the manual tape library. For additional information see Manual tape library considerations.
