If a permanent I/O error occurs during label processing, and the data set is the first one on the first or only volume, the operator will be requested to remove the tape and mount a scratch tape. The job will be abnormally terminated if the data set is not the first one on the volume or the volume is not the first volume of a multivolume data set.
