z/OS DFSMS Introduction

Use the following functions to manage DASD devices:
Interactive Storage Management Facility
ISMF enables both storage administrators and end-users to perform tasks related to storage, data, space, object, and tape management in DFSMS and other programs. For more information, see Interactive Storage Management Facility Menus.
MVS™ system commands
MVS system commands display the status of DASD devices. You also can use these commands to activate SMS or check, display, and change the status of the SMS configuration. For more information, see z/OS MVS System Commands.
