DD statements and dynamic allocation

z/OS DFSMS Macro Instructions for Data Sets
SC23-6852-02

Some macro descriptions refer to various keyword parameters that can be coded on a DD JCL statement. All of them have equivalents that can be specified in a call to dynamic allocation (SVC 99) or in a TSO ALLOCATE command. The macros treat all three sources the same.

Note: Although the NOCAPTURE dynamic allocation option does not have DD statement or TSO ALLOCATE option equivalents, the main non-VSAM access methods (BPAM, BSAM, and QSAM) do support the NOCAPTURE option of dynamic allocation (SVC 99).
