ESETL—Ending Sequential Retrieval

z/OS DFSMS Using Data Sets
SC23-6855-00

The ESETL macro directs the system to stop retrieving records from an indexed sequential data set. A new scan limit can then be set, or processing ends. An end-of-data-set indication automatically ends retrieval. An ESETL macro must be run before another SETL macro (described above) using the same DCB is run.

Note: If the previous SETL macro completed with an error, an ESETL macro should be run before another SETL macro.
