Defining a Catalog Storage Class z/OS DFSMS Managing Catalogs SC23-6853-00 |

Storage class is used to define the performance objectives for a data set. Since catalogs have their own cache, specification of additional performance objectives through storage class is unnecessary. If you want to control the placement of your catalogs, assign them a storage class with the Guaranteed Space attribute. The Availability objective for catalogs should be standard, although you can make it Continuous for the catalog of a critical application. |
