z/OS Security Server RACF Messages and Codes

REPLY Y OR N TO THE REQUEST.

Explanation

This message is displayed when RACF® is inactive and a RACROUTE REQUEST=AUTH is issued on a protected resource. It follows message ICH801I that requests the operator to decide if the requester is allowed access to the resource.

System action

The requesting task waits for the operators reply. If the operator responds with N, the request is denied with, in some cases, an abend code. If the response is Y, the request is allowed, and processing continues.

Operator response

The preceding message ICH801I informs the operator about the resource being requested and the user ID, job name, or started-task name of the requester. The operator uses the installation regulations to decide whether to allow the access.
