Explanation

During RACF® initialization, an I/O error occurred on the RACF database.

System action

The system issues ICH502A following this message, then waits for the operators reply.

Operator response

Notify your systems programmer.

Programmer response

Determine if the device or volume used for the RACF database is functioning properly.
