Explanation

>>---JES2 NOT DORMANT –  MEMBER DRAINING,----------------------->

>----PJES2,TERM NOT ALLOWED AT THIS TIME,----RC=--rc text------><

The operator entered a $P JES2 command or a $P JES2,TERM command to withdraw JES2 from the system, but not all of JES2's functions have completed.

In the case of a $P JES2 command, JES2 deletes this message from the console when either all JES2 activity has completed, or a $S command is entered to resume JES2 processing.

In the case of a $P JES2,TERM command, the message is just issued as a response to the command.

See the $HASP608 message for a more detailed list of activity causing JES2 not to be withdrawn.

In the message text:

System action

JES2 is not withdrawn and no new functions will be started; however, jobs can continue to be entered.

Operator response

Evaluate the details listed by the $HASP608 message. This applies to all return codes.

For return codes 1 through 7, stop all JES2 functions (that is, drain all devices, lines, initiators, and stop all jobs), then reenter the $P JES2 command.

For RC=03, issue the $DPCE,ACTIVE>0 command to determine what PCEs have active work.

For RC=06, if necessary, enter a $P JES2,QUICK to have JES2 ignore these requests when withdrawing.

For RC=08, the $P JES2,ABEND command is required to end JES2.

For RC=09, you might be experiencing a temporary state or it might indicate that an address space is still actively making requests of JES2. If the condition does not clear and is the only reason code listed, then this is likely a system address space (request jobID). Issue a $DA,STC command to display all remaining address spaces. One of these is probably still actively requesting JES2 services.

For RC=10, issue the $DA,X command to get a list of active address spaces.

For RC=12, the alternate command processor is actively processing a command. The processor might be waiting for a module to load. Check for GRS contention on any data sets that are in the JES2 STEPLIB or in the link list concatenation.

For RC=13, if necessary, enter the $MSPL(source_volume),CANCEL command to cancel the migration. However, a specific migration might not be eligible for cancellation.

For RC=14, a checkpoint reconfiguration is in progress and must be completed.
