>>-FAILURE DURING THE XCF JOIN-- BECAUSE A MAXIMUM-------------->

>--NUMBER OF XCF GROUPS ARE ACTIVE – --------------------------->

>--MEMBER=--nodename--$--memb--GROUP=--xcfgrpnm----------------><

JES2 member memb attempted to join the JES2 XCF group, but could not because the maximum number of groups is already defined to the sysplex. The MAXGROUP attribute on the DEFINEDS statement (of the IXCL1DSU format utility) did not allow enough groups while formatting the sysplex couple data set. See z/OS MVS Setting Up a Sysplex for more information.

In the message text:
nodename$memb
The XCF member name, where:
nodename
The name of the JES2 node containing memb.
memb
The identifier of the JES2 member attempting to join the sysplex group.
xcfgrpnm
The XCF group name.

System action

JES2 initialization ends.

System programmer response

Format the sysplex couple data set with a sufficient maximum number of groups to include the JES2 XCF group.
