>--dsname--ON--volser--HAS ZERO EXTENTS------------------------><

JES2 initialization has determined that the specified data set was allocated with zero extents.

In the message text:
member-name
The name of the member experiencing the problem. MEMBER member-name is only included when the volser is for a checkpoint data set.
n
The number of the checkpoint or new checkpoint data set. The number is either 1 or 2.
dsname
The name of the data set.
volser
The volume identifier of the volume containing the data set.

System action

  • If the data set is a checkpoint data set and JES2 is in initialization, JES2 initiates a checkpoint reconfiguration dialog. If JES2 is already within a checkpoint reconfiguration, JES2 prompts the operator for alternative actions.
  • If the $S SPOOL command was entered, the command is rejected and processing continues.
  • Otherwise processing continues without the volume.

System programmer response

Reallocate data set dsname using a single extent.
