You have requested a cold start of JES2. The checkpoint mode ($ACTIVATE LEVEL) that JES2 will cold start in is displayed. The checkpoint mode can be influenced by the UNACT start PARM or the COLD_START_MODE operand on OPTSDEF.

The checkpoint specifications that will be used are displayed in the message. Before beginning the start-up procedures, JES2 wants to confirm that you want a cold start, and if so, that you agree with the specifications to be used. For each checkpoint data set in use, the volume serial and data set name are displayed in the message. If the checkpoint data set is not in use, NOT IN USE is displayed.

For the SPOOL data sets, the data set name and the four or five character spool volume prefix (specified by the SPOOLDEF initialization statement) are displayed. The $HASP441 message follows, asking you to confirm the request.

In the message text:
volser
The volume identifier.
dsname
The name of the checkpoint data set.
strname
The name of the coupling facility structure.
xxxxx
The prefix of the spool volume as specified by the VOLUME parameter of the SPOOLDEF initialization statement.
