>>-JES2 RECONNECT TO FSS--fssname--FAILED,---------------------->

>--FSS TERMINATED WITH ABEND 02C  – $F06-----------------------><

During a JES2 hot start, JES2 failed to reestablish the cross memory interface required to support functional subsystem fssname.

In the message text:
fssname
The name of the functional subsystem.

System action

The functional subsystem abends with an ABEND code of X'02C'. All devices are drained that are associated with the functional subsystem.

Operator response

Save the hard-copy log. For system with remote consoles, save the remote console sheet. Notify the system programmer.

To restart the functional subsystem enter the $S PRTnnnn command. If the functional subsystem devices are also supported directly by JES2, they may be restarted by entering the $T command with MODE=JES and then starting the device with the $S command.

System programmer response

The $F06 code indicates this error condition. See z/OS MVS System Codes for an explanation of the X'02C' abend. Determine the cause of the ATSET system service failure. ATSET was invoked with an authorization index value in the $CCTAXV field of the $HCCT. For a description of ATSET, see z/OS MVS Programming: Assembler Services Reference ABE-HSP.

Save the dump produced. If you use SMP/E to make all changes to the system, run the LIST CDS and LIST PTFBY functions of SMP/E to obtain a list of the current maintenance from the SMP/E control data set (CDS).

If any changes are made without using SMP/E, run LISTIDR of AMBLIST to obtain a list of all members with a PTF or local fix and save the output. Run LISTIDR against the following:
  • SYS1.LINKLIB.
  • SYS1.SVCLIB
  • The library containing the program that issued the message.
  • SYS1.LPALIB
