Explanation

Read syntax diagramSkip visual syntax diagram
>>-nnnnnn--TRACK GROUPS ON--volser-----------------------------><

This message shows that nnnnnn track groups are mapped in the master TGM (track group map) for the HASPACE data set on the spool volume indicated by volser.

If message $HASP811 or $HASP854 accompany this message, there was not enough space in the master TGM to map all of the track groups on spool volume volser. JES2 mapped nnnnnn of the track groups, but nnnnnn is less than the total number of track groups on the volume.

In the message text:
nnnnnn
The number of track groups.
volser
The volume identifier.

Start of changeMessage $HASP854 is returned even if the requisite number of track groups seemed to be available, based on the MAX and INUSE values returned by $D SPOOLDEF. This message is issued because JES2 attempts to allocate the complete data set based on the spool calculations for each device type, as described in z/OS JES2 Initialization and Tuning Guide.End of change

Start of changeJES2 reached the MAX value setting before it could complete the allocation of the spool data set. The value returned by the $HASP850 message is only the number of track groups that JES2 was able to allocate, and not the entire data set that is required to use the spool data set.End of change

System action

JES2 processing continues in most cases. However, if message $HASP811 or $HASP854 accompany this message, JES2 waits for the operator to reply to message $HASP811 or $HASP854.

Operator response

None.
