A failure occurred in the JES2 general purpose subtask during access verification performed for a command, remote signon, or the specified job. The access request was denied for installation-specified function nnn or during authorization checking for one of the following functions:
  • $DESTCHK authorization call
  • Audit for job in error
  • Command authorization
  • Data set delete
  • DCT SECLABEL extract
  • Device authorization
  • Environment extract
  • JESNEWS update processing
  • JESNEWS token build
  • Job XMIT/OFFLOAD

In the message text:
jobname
The name of the failed job.
function
The name of the failed function for which access was denied during authorization checking.
nnn
The name of the installation-specified function for which access was denied.
Note: A jobid may appear before $HASP077 if your installation includes the jobid in the console message format and if this message is issued on behalf of a job (not a command or remote signon).

System action

JES2 sets a return code indicating that an access request was denied. If the authorization check was for user or job verification, JES2 flushes the job. Processing for all other cases, and for user functions, depends upon the requester.

JES2 also issues the $HASP078 message, which identifies the subtask that ABENDed.

Operator response

Notify the system programmer of this message.

Determine why the failure occurred by examining the abend and reason codes issued with the corresponding $HASP078 message.
