A BIND RU has been received from another NJE node attempting to establish a session with the local node. The BIND cannot be accepted because JES2 could not locate a qualifying SNA line device control table (DCT).

In the message text:
applid
The VTAM® application identifier of the node.
The texts have the following meanings:
  • NO IDLE LINES AVAILABLE, RC=01

No qualifying lines in the SNA idle line DCT.

  • DEDICATED LINE LINElna IS NOT AVAILABLE, RC=02

Dedicated line number lna is not in the SNA idle line DCT.

Dedicated line number lna is also dedicated to an RJE device (RMT5,LINE=5).

Dedicated line number lna is in disconnect process (draining).

Dedicated line number lna has a "password" set on it.

User has multiple SNA paths to NODE5 and has set the node for the dedicated line instead of setting the associated APPL statement for a dedicated line.

  • APPLID NOT DEFINED, RC=03

Application not defined by an APPL(avvvvvvv) statement.

  • NETWORK PATH MANAGER IS NOT AVAILABLE, RC=04

JES2 could not start the connect because the network path manager PCE failed. JES2 issues $HASP502 to indicate this condition.

System action

The BIND is rejected.

Operator response

Start a qualifying SNA line with the $S command and have the other node reenter the $SN command or enter the $SN command locally to start networking with applid specified in the message text.

System programmer response

For RC=02, reason 1, 2, or 3, this line cannot be used for SNA/NJE line dedication. Another line must be used. For RC=02, reason 4, turn off the password to this line or use another line. For RC=02, reason 5, dedicate the line on the APPL definition instead of the NODE definition. For RC=03, ensure that the application names defined to JES2 NJE with the APPL(avvvvvvv) or N(nnnn) initialization parameters are the same as those defined to VTAM and all other JES2 NJE nodes in the network. If not, correct the APPL(avvvvvvv) or N(nnnn) statement in error and retry starting networking to the node.
