$HASP202

Explanation

Read syntax diagramSkip visual syntax diagram
>>-LINExxx-- – – INVALID SIGN-ON--rmtname----------------------><

A remote workstation specified on the signon has insufficient authorization, or a remote workstation operator attempted to sign on to the specified line with a signon card that is not valid. A signon card is not valid if any of the following are true:
  • The remote workstation name is spelled incorrectly. The numbers must be left-justified with no leading zeros.
  • The remote workstation name specified has not been generated.
  • The remote workstation name specified is attached to another line.
  • The remote workstation name does not begin in column 16.
  • The signon statement was received from a remote BSC workstation followed by other data in the same transmission. For a remote BSC workstation, the signon statement must be received in a transmission by itself.
Note: Failure to comply with the above can result in a $HASP202 message after receiving $HASP200 and after correctly processing a valid signon statement. The signon card must be the only one in the reader with the end-of-file on. If the signon card is from a diskette, then the same end-of-file must be simulated.
In the message text:
xxx
The number of the line.
rmtname
Specifies the name of the remote workstation asking to sign on.
Note: The remote name will be added to this message only in the case of authorization failure, not for the case of a bad signon card.

System action

The attempted signon is not allowed, and the line is left in an INACTIVE status.

Operator response

The remote workstation operator should verify the spelling of the name. If the remote workstation is attached to another line, steps should be taken to correct this conflict in assignments. Notify the system programmer to determine if the remote workstation has sufficient authority.

System programmer response

Contact the security administrator to determine whether the remote workstation should be authorized for signon. If so, update the appropriate profiles and notify the operator that signon may be retried.
