Time buckets

Five time buckets, each defined by a maximum response time, are used. Every transaction has a total response time, and that time fits into one of the five configurable time buckets. The bucket boundaries are created by specifying the maximum response time for the first four buckets. The fifth bucket has an open-ended maximum value. The minimum response time boundary for each bucket is the maximum of the previous bucket. The first bucket has a minimum value of 0. A bucket transaction count is incremented by one when a response time is greater than the minimum and less than or equal to the maximum. Figure 1 depicts the time buckets. For default values, see z/OS Communications Server: IP Configuration Reference.
