z/OS Load Balancing Advisor configuration example

This topic includes a specific configuration example of the z/OS® Load Balancing Advisor, two Load Balancing Agents, and some customization of PROFILE.TCPIP considerations.

In this example, as shown in Figure 1, load balancer LB1 distributes workload requests to two z/OS systems in a sysplex, SYSA and SYSB. SYSA is a CINET configuration with two TCP/IP stacks. SYSB is an INET configuration with one TCP/IP stack. The load balancer is connected to a LAN that also connects to each target TCP/IP stack in the sysplex, including the TCP/IP stack where the Advisor is running. All addresses in this example are IPv4, but the Advisor and Agents are enabled for IPv6.

This example configuration does not use subplexing or AT-TLS.
