The LOADDBCSTABLES statement in TCPIP.DATA is used by both the FTP server and client to determine which DBCS translation table data sets can be loaded. The FTP server and client can be configured to load a number of DBCS translation tables. These are used during data set transfers to convert MVS™ host DBCS characters and non-MVS DBCS characters. The FTP command TYPE B n or the corresponding client subcommand is used to enter DBCS transfer mode and select a DBCS table.
