The CheckSpoolSize statement in the hlq.SMTP.CONFIG file is enabled. If this statement is enabled, SMTP checks the size of the JES spool file and if it is larger than the primary space allocation for the data set hlq.TEMP.NOTE, then that SMTP note is truncated.
