Secure port port_number does not support the -a or -r start parameter

Explanation

You issued the ftp command with the port_number parameter and the -a or -r parameter. The port number you specified was the secure port. The -a and -r start parameters are not allowed when you specify the port indicated by the port_number value.

In the message text:
port_number
The port number on the remote host to which you specified that the FTP client should be connected.

System action

The FTP client ends.

No action is needed.

System programmer response

No action is needed.

User response

Issue the ftp command without the -a or -r start parameter to log into the server using the secure port. Or, log into the server using the -a or -r start parameter with another port number.

This statement sets the secure port to 990. You attempt to connect to the FTP server at port 990 on the host specified hostname value. You specify the -a parameter also:
/rpcbind ftp -v  -a tls hostname 990 
EZA2892I Secure port 990 does not allow the -a or -r start parameter 
Message EZA2892I is issued because you specified the -a parameter while trying to connect to the secure port.
