- Because MVS™ TCP/IP ends the
connection when a server MPP completes, the client has no way of knowing
that the database changes have been committed. Therefore, it is suggested
that explicit-mode servers send a message to the client confirming
the COMMIT before terminating. (Implicit-mode servers send the CSMOKY
segment when the database changes have been committed.)
- When an explicit-mode server issues a ROLB command, the client
has no automatic way of knowing that the database updates have been
rolled back. It is suggested, therefore, that the server send a message
to the client when a rollback call completes.
