IPv6 RAW ICMPv6 applications can set the ICMP6_FILTER socket option to specify which ICMPv6 message types the socket receives. By default, the following message types are blocked (are not received):

• ICMP_MASKREQ
• ICMP6_ECHO_REQUEST
• MLD_LISTENER_QUERY
• MLD_LISTENER_REPORT
• MLD_LISTENER_REDUCTION
• ND_ROUTER_SOLICIT
• ND_ROUTER_ADVERT
• ND_NEIGHBOR_SOLICIT
• ND_NEIGHBOR_ADVERT
• ND_REDIRECT
