AN EXCESSIVE NUMBER OF HALF-OPEN CONNECTIONS ARE QUEUED FOR LISTENING PORT: listen port

Explanation

An excessive number of half-open connections have been queued for the specified listening port. Many half-open connection are created when connection requests are received from a remote host but that remote host does not acknowledge the connection acknowledgments sent by TCPIP in a timely fashion. It is possible that this condition is caused by a denial of service attack on that port.

listen port is the Listening Port Number.

System action

TCP/IP will automatically implement a connection acceptance algorithm to minimize the impact of these incomplete connection requests.
