Starts
a dialog in a new logical screen. If a logical screen does not exist,
it will be created.
You can use the START command to:
- Issue a command from the ISPF command table; for example, START KEYLIST
- Issue a command with parameters (in single quotes; for example, START 'ISRROUTE BRI'
- Start a dialog; for example, START PANEL(ISRUTIL)
Note: - If you are running in GUI mode, issuing the START command creates
a new window.
- If you are running on the host and invoke START from a pull-down
choice, the screen will be split where your cursor is located within
the pull-down.
- This function does not change the limitation number of logical
screens. If ISPF already has the maximum number of screens when the
START command is issued, the screen is re-split; that is, the split
line might move on the host, or a window is reused if you are running
in GUI mode.
